Sunlight swim in the river Lune

Glassy cold, fresh rain river,

Just looking makes me shiver,

Fast flotsum, floating past,

Is it safe, I have to ask.

YES… Ready!.. Lets GO!

Cold slides between skin and rubber,

Pity I ain’t got no blubber,

Rain-full river makes me slow,

But awesome colours are on show.

Sunlight makes water bright,

Amber aqua, what a sight,

Bubbles rise white and gold,

A tale of beauty’s being told.

Water’s heavy, catch and pull,

Glide forestalled, the river’s full.

Swimming up steam is hard work today,

It’ll be easier the other way.

Singing bridge deserves a song,

Even if the words are wrong,

Four great echos, how its designed,

Many rhythms you can find.

Heading back, the river’s running,

Do the hard part first, then the fun thing,

Stroke on stroke, my finger cross,

Moving fast, Oh my gosh.

Back to shore, its quite chilly,

Out I stagger wibbly wobbly,

On the slip the Reynards burning,

But that’s a smile, I ain’t gurning.
